Getting in touch
Write to app-support@steffens-software.de. The app is built in spare time — expect a reply within a few days rather than a few minutes.
Four details make a bug reproducible:
- the level number where it happened,
- your device and iOS version (Settings → General → About),
- the app version, shown in the app under Settings → About,
- what you did, and what you expected instead.
How does Water Sort work?
The goal is to get every bottle down to a single colour. Tap the bottle you want to pour from, then the bottle you want to pour into. A pour only happens if the target's top colour matches — or if the target is empty. The whole contiguous top layer flows across, as far as there is room.
I'm stuck
Every move can be undone, as far back as you like. If no move is possible at all, the app says so outright, and restarting the level is the only way on. Every level is solvable: they are generated by taking a fully sorted board and scrambling it backwards.
The colours are hard to tell apart
That is what the palette setting is for. The gear in the top right — on the start screen and mid-game alike — switches between palettes, from widely spaced colours that are easiest to separate to denser, bolder sets. The palette preview next to it shows each option on a real board before you commit. Your choice applies to every game and survives a restart.
What does “shuffle colours per level” do?
With the setting off, colours always arrive in the same order — so you can sort the bottles like a rainbow and know early where each colour belongs. With it on, every level rolls its own assignment: which colour goes where only emerges from the board itself. That is markedly harder.
My progress is gone
Progress is stored on the device and nowhere else. There is no server and no cloud to restore it from, so deleting the app deletes it for good. An encrypted device backup (iCloud Backup, or a backup to a computer) does include the app's data — restoring the device from one brings the progress back.
Does the app need an internet connection?
No, and it could not open one if it wanted to. There is no networking code in the app. Everything runs on the device.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17.0 and later. Portrait and landscape are supported on both.
What does it cost?
Nothing. There is no purchase price, no in-app purchases, no subscription and no advertising.
Are more games coming?
That is the plan — the app is built as a collection, not as a single game. A parking-deck puzzle is next in line. There is no date; this is a spare-time project.
